Happy National Wear Red Day

Share This Blog:

In honor of National Wear Red Day, a day to wear red to raise awareness for women’s heart health, I wanted to share a video of me preparing a heart healthy sheet pan fajita recipe. I shot this video a couple of years ago for a heart health event. Fun fact: I use this seasoning combination as taco seasoning as well. My blood pressure issues after having my son caused me to search for ways to eat flavorful foods with less salt. This recipe is included in the Dash Diet Meal Prep for Beginners cookbook written by Dana Angelo White. As someone with high blood pressure, I picked up this cookbook as a means to learn to reduce the amount of sodium in the meals I prepare. The “dash” in dash diet stands for: dietary approaches to stop hypertension.

Let me know if you try this recipe and also feel free to share your favorite heart healthy recipes.

Visit the American Heart Association’s website for more information on National Wear Red Day.
